Meet our Team

Dr. Hannah Hottel

Dr. Hannah Hottel received her degree in veterinary medicine from Cornell University in 2010. After graduation, Dr. Hottel practiced internal and preventative medicine at Trumansburg, NY's ARC Veterinary Clinic for 6 years. One of her special areas of interest is holistic treatment, and she is pleased to be able to offer clients herbal and acupuncture therapies, in addition to western treatments.

More
Dr. Hottel has been working with animals her whole life--growing up and working on her family farm. Because you never really can take the girl off the farm, Dr. Hottel owns and operates her own farm with the help of her husband, Jason, and her 7 year old daughter, Reagan. Along with Jason and Reagan, Dr. Hottel is loved by her bulldog, Caesar, her horse, Kari, and her sweet rescue dog, Callie. In her free time, Dr. Hottel loves to ride her motorcycle.

Alyssa, Veterinary Assistant

Alyssa is coming upon 5 years experience working in the practice of veterinary medicine. Before joining our clinic as a veterinary assistant, she assisted in a clinic in Pennsylvania for 4 years. Currently, Alyssa is finishing her studies and training at Penn Foster College to become licensed veterinary technician. Her areas of interest in care are hospitalization and treatment. Outside of the clinic, Alyssa warmly cares for her dog, Sid, and her four cats, Nala, Ragetti, Jack, and Rubble; 2 of which she rescued and raised from 3 weeks old. In her free time she loves getting outdoors and hanging with her 2 kids. .

Della, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Della earned her Associate's in veterinary technology from Alfred State University and has worked for 4 years as a licensed veterinary technician. A high priority for Della in her work is being a well-rounded technician, offering a comfort level and skill in many areas which support the clinic's proficiency in veterinary care. Della loves just about any activity that lets her enjoy the fresh, open air. One of her favorite things about the local area is the variety in the seasons, each of which offers her a different way to experience the outdoors.

Mary, Receptionist

Before joining Home Veterinary Care, Mary worked for 15 years with a humane society, providing protection and shelter for animals in need. Mary is a native New Yorker, growing up in Caton, NY. Her happy home is comprised of 2 dogs, 3 cats, an oversized goldfish, 3 daughters, and one son. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her kids and her friends, as well as horseback riding. .

Sherry, Practice Manager

Sherry has worked with veterinary practices nearly all her life, starting when she worked as a teen on kennel maintenance in an animal hospital. After finishing school, Sherry returned to working with animals, bringing her accounting and book work skills with her, and has been managing practices since 1990. Though Elmira will always be home, she has worked with animal hospitals in Tennessee and Georgia. At home, Sherry has 2 parrots, an Amazon named Reba and a Senegal named Xeta; as well as 2 cats, Tish and Lily, a dog, lovingly rescued, named Anya, and her Friesian horse, Twarres. Some of Sherry's favorite activities are being involved in horse showing and dog shows.
